Information

When the television cameras arrived at Julian’s veterinary practice in Thirsk in 2015, to follow him and his colleagues in their daily work, nobody could have expected what would follow.

The Channel 5 series “The Yorkshire Vet”, in which Julian features as the main character, became a hit, attracting an audience of over 2 million and reaching as far afield as New Zealand, Canada and Australia.

Following in the footsteps of James Herriot- Julian has spent much of his working life as vet in the same practice- he has written two books: “Horses, Heifers and Hairy Pigs: The Life of a Yorkshire Vet” and “A Yorkshire Vet Through the Seasons” which explore stories from his working vet life.

In conversation with Kate Fox, stand up poet and comedian, Julian talks about his life as a vet, what it’s been like starring on television and also his books.
