Information

Double Bill:
Kicking off the evening is nostalgic, fast-paced and comic one-man show Yorkshire Kernel – a theatrical journey! The story is all about James’s grandad who is at death’s door. He has one last mission: to find a tree. A tree with special significance to his wartime comrades. Simple? You’d think so.
Written by Danny Mellor, it is performed by the energetic Richard Galloway who singularly captivates the audience in his tale of Yorkshire wit and grit, not least with his amazing range of accents in all the 13 different roles.
Then tap your feet and laugh along to The Land Girl, replete with songs and stories that capture the “can-do” spirit of the ladies who kept Britain fed during the hardships of World War Two. With songs by SONY Award-winning singer songwriter Jez Lowe, Ellen Carnazza performs this one-woman show which explores the highs and lows of working on the land during wartime. From ration books to rat-catching, acres of onions to the American air base dances, the monologue is inspired by actual stories of Yorkshire Land Army ‘Girls’ collected by the writer Kate Bramley back in 2009.
A wonderful evening that transports you back to another time and place.
"Wow! We saw you tonight at Green Hammerton and we’re incredibly impressed! We’ll be seeing everything you do in future – congratulations on such a fabulous theatre company!”
"Loved both shows – but my goodness Richard Galloway, you must be exhausted after that incredible performance!!"
"Brilliant… no, really brilliant!"
"What talent.”
