Information

an exclusive evening with three of Middlesbrough Football Club’s greatest and most respected players: Craig Hignett, John Hendrie and Gary Pallister.

Craig Hignett was a fine attacking midfielderwho made 196 appearances for the Boro between 1992-1998 scoring 48 goals, which included the first ever goal at The Riverside Stadium.  Craig took a pay cut to stay at the Boro and fight his way into the first team after Bryan Robson’s side was promoted from Division One in 1994-1995.  Craig formed a dynamic midfield partnership with Boro record signing, at the time, Nick Barmby. To Boro fans Craig and Nick were affectionately known as the ‘midget gems’.

From 1990-1996 John Hendrie made 234 appearances scoring 56 goals for Boro. Manager, Colin Todd, moulded John into an attacking midfielder before Lennie Lawrence switched John to a central striking role. John was the clubs leading scorer in 1994-1995 when Boro won promotion back to the top flight.  On 30thApril 1995, John secured legendary status on Teesside by scoring the last ever goal at Ayresome Park.

Gary Pallister’s amazing footballing career started at non-league Billingham Town and at the age of 19 he joined his boyhood heroes at Middlesbrough as a defender.  During two spells at Boro, 1984-1989 and 1998-2001 Gary made 250 appearances scoring 7 goals. Gary was a very cultured defender and in 1989 signed for Manchester United for £2.3 million which was a national record transfer fee for a defender.  Gary had a glittering career with Man Utd and also won 22 caps for England before Bryan Robson brought Gary back to Teesside to form a defensive partnership with Colin Cooper.

Craig, John and Gary will take a nostalgic look back on their illustrious careers with numerous anecdotes from on and off the field; great stories from the Robson, Juninho, Ravanelli, Emerson and Gazza era; not to mention their opinions on the current Boro team and football in general.

A VIP package is available for £49 which includes a reserved seat in the front three rows, meeting Craig, John and Gary prior to the main show for up to one hour, receiving a limited edition signed print plus the opportunity to have a photograph taken with these Boro legends. VIP session starts at 7pm.

The doors at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium will open from 7pm with the main event starting at 8pm.  At the half-time interval there will be a raffle with some impressive prizes up for grabs.  On the night there is also the chance to ask Craig, John and Gary lots of questions and to purchase some fantastic sporting memorabilia. It should be noted that the VIP session commences at 7pm.
